Club Social Events
At the Harlequins, we pride ourselves on being a family club and we organise regular social events throughout the season. Some are very casual events, while others require a little bit of extra effort to organise.
Help from Parents during the Season
Many junior sporting clubs are run by a small band of committed individuals, which is something we actively try to avoid at the Harlequins. We aim to run the club via a large band of committed individuals!
Harbord Harlequins Coaches, Managers and Committee members are volunteers who contribute their time and energy because they get a buzz seeing the kids enjoy themselves, but they can’t do it all on their own! Many hands make light work, so the more people who get involved mean the less each us have to do. Like anything in life, the more you put in the more you will take out, so please ask how you can help. We expect every parent to help during the season for a minimum of 2 hrs on 2 match days.
Your Team Manager will contact you regarding our Parent Help Roster, which details jobs such as:
• Cook on the BBQ or serve in the shop at home games
• Set up the playing field, or pack things away after the game
• Write a weekly match report for posting on the website
• Be a touch judge at your child’s game
• Referee a game before or after your child’s game
• Help marshal kids at a Rugby Development Day during the school holidays
