WALLA – Under 6 & Under 7

Each Team has 2 Awards:

1. Player of the Week Trophy
2. Most Improved Trophy

Player of the Week Trophy is specifically for the player who has done something outstanding during the game. The player gets to keep the trophy until the next game, whereby it is re-issued to the next recipient.

The Most Improved Trophy goes to a player who continues to try hard and maybe performs a skill not previously executed. The player gets to keep the trophy until the next game, whereby it is re-issued to the next recipient.


MINI – Under 8 & Under 9

Each Team has 2 Awards:

1. Player of the Week Trophy
2. Skill of the Week Trophy

Player of the Week Trophy is specifically for the player who has done something outstanding during the game, and is considered the player of the match. The player gets to keep the trophy until the next game, whereby it is re-issued to the next recipient.

Skill of the Week Trophy is specifically for the player who has completed a certain skill i.e. ripping, cleaning out which has been identified by the Coach and Manager prior to game commencement. The player gets to keep the trophy until the next game, whereby it is re-issued to the next recipient.

Match Reports should refer to these awards by their name i.e. Player of the Week (not Man of the Match or Best & Fairest)


JUNIOR - Under 10 to Under 17

Junior Teams will be recognised for their contribution throughout the season and players will be eligible for The George Smith Award.

There will be one Award per team. The recipient will have their name engraved on the Club Trophy and receive their own Trophy for keepsake.

The Award is based on Best and Fairest points collated from each game played, along with other criteria listed below.

The Agreed Criteria set down by the Committee is;

  • Awarded Annually Selected only from Junior Teams Only U10 – U17.
  • Must have finished top of his/her teams Best & Fairest points.
  • Must have played for no other rugby club that season.
  • The player must have attended at least 80% of all of his/her teams events during the year i.e. training sessions, games, social events.
  • The player must have had NO Red Card send offs during that year.
  • The player must have NO MORE THAN 3 Yellow Card send offs during that year.
  • Has never at any time during that season acted in a manner contrary to the Rugby Code of Conduct.
  • Is generally regarded as someone who plays the game in a positive manner and in good sportsmanship.
  • Generally regarded as a Team Player – individual brilliance is not enough to win the award.
  • HHRC Committee to ratify selection of award winners.
  • 3-2-1 points awarded at the completion of each game ARE NOT TO BE PUBLISHED – Each coach / manager is responsible for recording the points with a copy of each weeks allocation submitted to the Secretary.
As a tangible reward for Effort on the Day, a Skill of the Week Trophy is also available for use at the Coach’s discretion.

All perpetual trophies are to be returned on a weekly basis for re-issue, and at the end of the season they must come back to the Club.
